Admission to the Internship Program
Application Process
The Consortium
Governing Board will review all applicants to insure that
they have a preparation program compatible with the objectives
of the Consortium, and appropriate practicum experience in a doctoral program in School Psychology. Preference is given
to school psychology students from APA-approved programs.
Once applicants have been selected by the Consortium, they
will be able to state their preference of sites and this will
be considered in the assignment of interns by the Governing
Board. The Consortium members review all applications and participate
in the assignment of interns to institutions. One internship
position of the Consortium is reserved for a student from
the University of Tennessee School Psychology Training Program.
The UT training program is affiliated with the Tennessee Internship
Consortium in Psychology program.
The Tennessee
Internship Consortium in Psychology is a member of the Association
of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC)
and is accredited by the American Psychological Association
(APA).
The Consortium endorses the APPIC Match Policies and this internship site
agrees to abide by the APPIC policy that no person at this
training facility will solicit, accept, or use any ranking-related
information from any intern applicant. The Consortium adheres
to APPIC guidelines regarding notification of acceptance.
